New7Wonders of the World
In 2001 Swiss corporation started the New7Wonders Foundation to choose the New7Wonders of the World from the existing 200 monuments and the results were announced on July 7, 2006, in Lisbon, Portugal. The Great Pyramid of Giza was named as the honorary candidate.

Great Wall of China
The great wall of China is one of the greatest wonders of the world, it was listed by the UNESCO as the world heritage in 1987 It stretches around 1317miles (21196 Kilometers) from east to west of China across the mountain, grassland, deserts, and plateaus. It was built around 2000 years ago i.e in the Warring States period, the wall was built mainly to protect from invasions and raids. This series of the fortress is built with stone, brick, tampered earth, and other materials.
Petra in Jordan
Petra which is famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system is a historical and archaeological city in southern Jordan.It's also Known as Rose City because of the color of stone it was carved.It was constructed around 312 BC. Since 1985 it has been a UNESCO Heritage Site and the Smithsonian Magazine has described it as one of the “28 Places to See Before You Die”.
Christ the Redeemer in Brazil
Christ the Redeemer is an Art Deco statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janerio in Brazil. The statue is 30 meter (98 ft) tall with pedestal which 8 meters (26 ft) and its arms stretch 28 meters (92 ft) wide. It was created by French sculptor Paul Landowski and built by the Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silba Costa in collaboration with French engineer Albert Caquot. Romanian sculptor Gheorghe Leonida fashioned the face. The construction started in 1922 and finished in 1931. The statue weighs 635 metric tons and is located at the peak of the 700 meter (2300 ft) Corcovado mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park overlooking the city of Rio. It was made of concrete and soapstone.
Machu Picchu in Peru
Machu Picchu is an Inca citadel situated 2430 meters above the sea level and it’s located in the Cusco Region, Urubamba Province, Machupicchu District in Peru above the Sacred Valley. Emperor Pachacuti (1438 – 1472) of Inca was believed to have built it but after a century later it was abandoned. It was brought to the International attention in 1911 by Hiram Bingham. It was built with polished dry-stone walls in the Classic Inca style and its primary structures are the Inti Watana, the Temple of the Sun, and the Room of the Three Windows.
Chichen Itza in Mexico
Chichen Itza is a Pre-Columbian city built by Maya people in Terminal Classic Period and its located in the Tinum Municipality, Yucatan State, Mexico. It’s the largest city which exhibits a multitude of architectural styles because of its diverse population.
Colosseum in Italy
Colosseum or Coliseum is the largest Oval Amphitheatre ever built. It's located in the center of the city of Rome, Itay. Built using concrete and sand. The construction was started by emperor Vespasian in AD 72 and completed by his successor Titus in AD 80. It could hold up to 50000 to 80000 spectators and it was used for the gladiator contests and public spectacles. It is also known as Flavian Amphitheatre.
Taj Mahal in India
Taj Mahal means Crown of the Palace. It is an ivory white marble mausoleum commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan on the south bank of the Yamuna river in Agra. It was built to house the tomb of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It was built in 42 acre land with Mosque, guest house, gardens and the tomb is the centerpiece. The Taj Mahal is built in the Mughal architectural style and it is 73 meters tall. In 1983 UNESCO declared it as the World Heritage Site.
Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt
Great Pyramid of Giza is the largest and oldest of the three pyramids in Giza pyramid complex and it is also the oldest of Seven Wonder of the Ancient World. The tomb was built around 2560 BC and it took almost 10-20 years to complete. It is 146.5 meters tall which was the tallest man-made structure for around 3800 years. It has got 3 chambers.
